Covering the Head is Mentioned in the Qur’an for Women

There have been multiple claims by neo-liberal Muslims that the head covering for women is not mentioned in the Qur’an, therefore, it is not an obligation for women. However, this is not correct. The meaning of Khimaar in the Arabic language in verse 24:31 includes covering the head. This was understood to be part of the meaning from the very beginning of Islam. It is how the Arabs used and understood the word Khimaar. Nouman Ali Khan in the following video does an excellent job of explaining from a purely linguistic perspective that covering the head is indeed mentioned in the Qur’an for women. It is linguistically impossible, historically erroneous, and intellectual dishonesty to claim otherwise.
